Empress of Fae
Ooooph…
You ever do something just to say you did it?
Well I yolo’d this book. It’s not the book’s fault. The story is well done, the characters engaging. But I was losing my spark for reading.
The fact that this wasn’t my last book before my hideous should tell you something. And that something is that I don’t like to admit when I’m lost.

Now, I’ll admit, the lines are blurred a bit.
From what I remember….
Morgan wakes up in the catacombs of the church, that is where the portal is connected to. Extremely convenient, but hell, write what you want!
Merlin is the church leader, still, kind of. Remember of King Arthur wanted to start praying to the only male god, well he kind of made it illegal to pray to the other main 3 female gods that the kingdom has prayed to for generations.
I know, super selfish of him!
Anyway, he made the three lesser gods now and put Merlin in charge of it. Merlin help Morgan heal and brings her up to speed on what Arthur has been doing. Basically picking fights with two strong kingdoms and causing a war to break out.
Now its been a few months since Morgan has been home, like 6-8. But people are already starving, rioting, and dying for no good reason.
Also Morgans best friend Lancelot, who she thought was killed by the zombie children, is here! She pretty mauled and pissed Morgan left her. Also she is kind of in love with Genevier.
Geneiver is kind of thrown in in this story. She was promised to Arthur as the next queen and to end the war. Arthur took her, bedded her, then tossed her aside.
Only to marry Morgan’s Fae sister. He doesn’t know she is Fae, because he despises the fae. Nor does he know it’s Morgan’s sister.
But basically they share the same father, the king of the super evil fae on the other side of the world. And she is a few hundred years old, just like Morgan but she was put in a coma by her mother and doesn’t recall any of that.
Soooo, anyway….
Morgan joins the rebellion Merlin is leading. She has to play the part of the supportive princess. To do this Merlin frames her as being her prisoner and gets herself killed by Arthur himself.
This gives Morgan an alibi for why she never came back with the sword and where she has been these past few months.
Arthur is watching her but is happy she is back in his court.
When she meets her sister she is using a glamour so Arthur can not tell she is fae, and she is pregnant.
In a crazy turn of events Arthur hears of a prophecy that his own heir will kill him so he orders the queen’s baby to be put to death. The queen freaks out because she has plans of her own for the baby to rule.
The Queen has the baby, a girl, and is killed by the knights. Morgan saves the baby of course to raise as her niece.
All the while, Draven is crossing the ocean with an army and the two cat mounts to save Morgan. But it dawns on him that he can just stitch with the cats and the army can meet them later, so he does. Right at the end and saves Morgan.
There is probably so much more that happened but I can’t remember. It’s been so long….
Overall the story is good, but I still haven’t picked up the final book and if i’m being honest i may never pick it up. Not that the series deserves to be DNF’d, that’s just where I’m at in life.
